Summer is knocking at our doors, and if there is one activity that brings people together, it is to have a bite to eat with family or friends, casually, under gentle summer breezes.

PHOTO STATION MONT-ROYAL

No more question of resisting happiness. The time has come to reconnect with all these gourmet pleasures, which are tacos, our national dish, poutine. derived with all the sauces, or even the churros with dulce de leche, which taste like heaven. Indeed, life has resumed its course and the food truck trend will once again blow over the garden city this summer! The City made the announcement this spring. Food trucks will be part of the Mount-Royal landscape, bordering Connaught Park, every Thursday evening, from June 23 until September 1, inclusively. These 11 gourmet evenings, organized in partnership with the Association des restaurateurs de rue du Québec, are the perfect opportunity to encourage local cuisine and its artisans…in addition to cultivating community spirit. It's a date.

The mild weather allowed Townies to participate in large numbers in the famous event. The concept of which is both original and interesting. For a contribution of $25, you can buy a soup – which you can eat on the spot – in a bowl made at the Atelier de poterie de Mont-Royal, which you have chosen beforehand and which you take home. According to Jan Lauer, assistant manager for seniors at the Town of Mount Royal, no less than 100 bowls were sold on Saturday alone.

In TMR, “Empty Bowls” is an initiative of the pottery workshop and the United Church of Mount Royal.

« Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe » is an annual classic car show that will take place on Sunday, June 12, starting at 9:30 a.m., in Connaught Park, at the corner of Graham and Laird boulevards.

PHOTO STATION MONT-ROYAL ARCHIVES

Gleaming, polished, pampered, nearly fifty magnificent cars will grace Connaught Park with their presence on June 12 for the 2022 edition of "Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe", a friendly contest of "beauties of yesteryear" which, each year , arouses the interest of those nostalgic for the bodywork and mechanics of yesteryear.

Some owners even go so far as to put on the period costume and only ask to share the object of their passion with enthusiastic amateurs. On a beautiful sunny Sunday when we picnic between a 1921 Ford Model T and a 1969 Road Runner, here is a friendly and appreciated event held in one of the most beautiful parks in Town of Mount-Royal. The exhibition presents only original vintage cars only.
